GRADE LEVEL GOALS
The Children's Liturgy of the Word
The Children's Liturgy of the Word program helps
children age 4 to 5th grade to hear, understand and act on the Word
of God on their own level. Children are dismissed from Mass to
go to another space where they hear the readings in language they
can understand. They sing a simple Psalm and profess
their beliefs. They return to Church before the Eucharistic
prayer. This wonderful program that opens up God's Word to
children is offered every Sunday at St. Jude at the 9:00 a.m. Mass
and at St. Joseph at the 10:00 a.m. Mass.

Each grade covers this material in a spiral method. It is presented with a deeper understanding and living experience in accordance with the child's level of learning.
First Reconciliation and First Communion - Sacramental Preparation
Family centered preparation for First Reconciliation in the fall, followed by First Communion in the spring usually takes place in Grade 2. However families with children of a different age are invited to join us as well. Family centered preparation includes parent meetings, retreats, classes and families working in a special book.
